Summer nights in Wisconsin take the cake over any other time of year, and this gorgeous engagement session at the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison was one for the books!

First let’s talk about how adorable this couple is. If it isn’t instantly apparent how much they adore each other, I can fill you in. Rachel and Erik have been through so many life stages together; they started as high school sweethearts, which turned into a long distance relationship when they were in college, to finally moving in together and getting engaged last summer! These two have been by each other’s side through everything and have quite literally grown up together. There is something so sweet and romantic in knowing that all of their memories together started when they were still practically kids themselves! Imagine the stories they’ll be able to tell their own children one day!

For this engagement shoot, Rachel wanted to incorporate the beloved city that held so many great memories for her and Erik. We decided that a summery evening session starting around the capitol and ending during sunset in James Madison Park was the perfect quintessential way to showcase the beauty of this great city and their love for one another!

I wish all summer nights could be this magical; the glowing sunset, the classic white architecture, and that blush tulle skirt! A few of my favorite things all wrapped up in one gorgeous session. Enjoy!
